Estimating and Monitoring the Land Surface Temperature (LST) Using Landsat OLI 8 TIRS

چکیده
Land Surface Temperature (LST) is average temperature of an element the exact surface Earth calculated from measured radiance which depends on albedo, vegetation cover, and soil moisture. can affect human discomfort, health problem, higher energy bill further reduce habitability urban sub area as Makassar city has been recently undergoing massive development. This study tries to monitor estimate by using Landsat 8 TIRS data analyzed index, index in order derive value. The result shows that declined around 3470 hectares last four years while increased approximately 1509 hectare. In addition, 2015, Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia are experienced highest at 32 degree Celsius 2019 shown maximum heat reached 29 celsius. However, moderate high (26 – Celsius) expand cover wider than 2015 built-up significantly

Monitoring the earth surface temperature and relationship land use with surface temperature using of OLI and TIRS Image
Earth surface temperature is an important indicator in the study of energy equilibrium models at the ground level on a regional and global scale. Due to the limitation of meteorological stations, remote sensing can be an appropriate alternative to the Earth's surface temperature. The main objective of this study is to monitor the surface temperature and its relationship with land use, which is ...
متن کاملDerivation of Land Surface Temperature for Landsat-8 TIRS Using a Split Window Algorithm
Land surface temperature (LST) is one of the most important variables measured by satellite remote sensing. Public domain data are available from the newly operational Landsat-8 Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS). This paper presents an adjustment of the split window algorithm (SWA) for TIRS that uses atmospheric transmittance and land surface emissivity (LSE) as inputs. Various alternatives for es...
متن کاملEstimating Land Surface Temperature in the Central Part of Isfahan Province Based on Landsat-8 Data Using Split- Window Algorithm
Land surface temperature (LST) is used as one of the key sources to study land surface processes such as evapotranspiration, development of indexes, air temperature modeling and climate change. Remote sensing data offer the possibility of estimating LST all over the world with high temporal and spatial resolution. Landsat-8, which has two thermal infrared channels, provides an opportunity for t...
متن کاملTarget Detection Method for Water Mapping Using Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS Imagery
Extracting surface water distribution with satellite imagery has been an important subject in remote sensing. Spectral indices of water only use information from a limited number of bands, thus they may have poor performance from pixels contaminated by ice/snow, clouds, etc. The detection algorithms using information from all spectral bands, such as constrained energy minimization (CEM), could ...
متن کاملLandsat-8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) Radiometric Performance On-Orbit
Expectations of the Operational Land Imager (OLI) radiometric performance onboard Landsat-8 have been met or exceeded. The calibration activities that occurred prior to launch provided calibration parameters that enabled ground processing to produce imagery that met most requirements when data were transmitted to the ground. Since launch, calibration updates have improved the image quality even...
